Can Clean 2009 held in Toronto, April 28-29 at the Direct Energy Centre opened its doors to a fresh new look that saw over 2,500 visitors attend the two day trade show.
Despite the downturn in the economy and the threat of a major pandemic, end-users travelled from across Canada to attend the education programs that featured outstanding speakers, Mark Warner, Dr. Sayed Sattar, Dave Frank and Mary E. Vearncombe.

CSSA would like to thank our partners, the Canadian Association of Environmental Management, the Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers Assocation and the Regional Infection Control Networks Of Ontario for organizing their meeting in conjunction with Can Clean.
CSSA held their bi-yearly awards dinner on Tuesday, April 28th at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency On King. The industries highest honour, the Sam Tughan Achievement Award was presented to Jim Ferris. An number of other awards were also presented to over achievers in the indsutry.
Most importantly, CSSA would like to thank the companies who indured the less than favourable economic conditions to support our industry trade show by exhibiting this year.
Can Clean will be held again in Toronto in 2011.

In a recent meeting in Chicago, The International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) and the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association (CSSA) Executives met to review the current “Alliance” agreement between the two associations. “Our meetings were very constructive, said the interim CSSA Executive Director, Mike Nosko. Several key initiatives will be presented to the National Board. “We definitely need to clarify some things, particularly join membership".
October 15, 2008 – The International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) and the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association (CSSA) have further strengthened their alliance by announcing a new
joint membership program. CSSA companies wishing to become ISSA members will be able to take advantage of a 15% discount commencing with 2009 dues. ISSA members wishing to joint CSSA will also be able to discount their dues 15% in 2009. "We are happy to have reached this joint membership decision" says CSSA Interim Executive Director, Mike Nosko. This will take away the confusion that our members have regarding ISSA membership. “This program replaces the old one and will help to promote value in being a member of both associations. The Industrial & Institutional Technical Forum (IITF) is a newly developed membership category of the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association dedicated to the industry professionals.

The Canadian Association of Environmental Management and the Canadian Sanitation and Supply Association announced today an historic tentative agreement between the two associations. Director of Public Relations for CAEM Ron McQuade commented that this is part of CAEM’s vision to become the premier National Association of professionals employed in the Environmental Services, Custodial and Housekeeping industry. Our goal is to bring regional groups together in order that the Housekeeping Industry has one voice on the national stage. This agreement with CSSA will give our end users a close working alliance with our supplier association. The concept of a national supplier association and end user association alliance will have powerful synergies for both associations McQuade commented.
In early June of this year, the executive of the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association appointed a management team to resume the day to day operations. Long time CSSA member and publisher of Canada’s leading Jan-San magazines, Mike Nosko and his team will be responsible for leading the Association into the next phase of it’s on going development.
